The Church We Envision
The Church That We Envision
The church that we envision is one that is strong like a tree, rooted and has many branches (ministries] that have leaves and fruit.
The church we envision is one that Jesus reigns in!
The church we envision is one that bridges the gap between the spiritual world and technology. A church that seeks ways to make technology accessible.
The church we envision is one where individuals are free to explore and indulge themselves in their grandiose thoughts of God, Christ and the Holy Spirit.
We envision a church where people are becoming aware of their gifts, talents and the “Greatness That Lies Within Them.”
We envision a church that continues to help “generations to come” by listening to the next generation, providing employment opportunities that lead to gainful employment or entrepreneurial opportunities.
We envision a church that teaches parents to raise Godly children.
We envision a church that takes care of its elders in church and society.
We envision a church that extends grace to those that have made mistakes in society.
We envision a church that is always looking outside of itself at our community and being the arms & feet of Jesus.
We envision a church continues to develop & multiply leaders for the churches of the future that will help spread the Gospel.
We envision a church that is passionate in its worship of God.
We envision a church where preaching is taught.
We envision a church that takes care of its members.
We envision a church that provides shelter for those less fortunate.
We envision a church that isn’t scared to dream big dreams and hop in the passenger seat and let God drive.
We envision a church where the members are really family and just walking through life together.
We envision a church where you will continue to help us write the book of Acts……………..
We envision a church that will “Tell Our Story”
We envision a church that will make life better here on earth

Our Values
Jesus sought the Lost. We seek people because Jesus sought us when we were lost.
What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? Luke 15:4
Jesus empowered ordinary people to become disciples/children of the Most High. We want to leave people better than when we found them.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12
Jesus helped people. We assist people because we believe at the core of everyone is greatness.
But Jesus said unto them, they need not depart; give ye them to eat. Matthew 14:16
Jesus challenged people to follow Him.
And he saith unto them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
Jesus gave himself for us and we should want to tell others.
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14
My Story
Pastor Damion Young
From the age of 14-28 the list of crimes ranged from robbery to selling drugs. At some point when your life is spiraling out of control you ask the question, what is my purpose in life? If I had a purpose in life, I’d be like everyone else I see every morning having somewhere important to go but I’m on this corner selling drugs early morning.
God hears our most intimate and dearest cries of the soul. And He answers in the most mysterious ways, conscious of our every plight and situation in life, He’s there every step of the way. He was there for me, Minister Damion Wilson, to meet me right where I was at in life, busted and disgusted and desperate for Him and for things to change in life. At the age twenty-eight I came to the Lord in a small cell in county jail after being mentored and discipled by a murderer in jail who answered all my questions about the Lord. Every day I read The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I was converted in that small cell and left out from that point teaching the word of God to anyone who would listen.
My life went from one of hopelessness to hope because it was backed with a promise I found in Jeremiah 29:11 KJV “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” From that day forward I have been in pursuit of His plans for my life. His plans led me from Oakland, California to Vancouver, Washington where He has been ever faithful and continues to reveal His plans to me. His plans to mold and shape me into His Son have been ever unfolding.
For five years I served under the Presiding Elder Rev. Joyce M Smith former Pastor of Community AME Zion Church in Vancouver, Washington where my foundation in ministerial training began and God began giving me the name of a ministry, Seeds Of Greatness Ministries. The name came from writing devotions on Facebook for fun for everyone to read and at the end of the devotional writings God had me place a motivation section titled “Seeds Of Greatness” where the reader could apply the word of God to their life.
At the end of 2016 a restlessness was within my soul and an unforeseen situation occurred where I and my family left our home church in search of a new church to plant ourselves and grow. As the search began, I went to work on creating a logo for the ministry because God was birthing and inspiring within me a seed. Seeds Of Greatness Ministries was born in March of 2017 and the vision is to spread to a sick and dying world the message that greatness lies within you, for greater is He that is in you then He that is in the world.
From Prison to the Pulpit is my story how God met one soul right where I was in life giving me eternal life and timeless principles to live by that have resulted in me living life and having life more abundantly. I served under my Pastor Rev. J. Walter Hills II of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Portland for three years.
For some time now I have felt the tug of Gods call upon my life and the restlessness to answer the call of God upon my life. My church planting coach & mentor Pastor Kyle Davies of Generations Church of Salmon Creek has done by far an excellent job in helping to usher me into church planting 🌱101. Jesus said in John 20:21 “So Send I You.” Never in my life could I imagined but but Jesus is correct if He calls you out the crowd and sends you on assignment. Just as everyday we need more trees planted in our world for oxygen, we need more churches planted that express the various unique creativity of our creator that have their own individual “kingdom concept” expressed in the dna of newly formed churches. When I answered the call, I knew God was calling me to a Journey outside the box. I knew we in the body of Christ didn’t need just another church per say but an “outreach church.” An outreach church that “makes disciples” with a clear strategy and endeavoring to be the arms and feet of our Lord & Savior Jesus the Christ. When you look out into the world if there’s one person rooting you on in the Kingdom you are exceptionally blessed. I know in my soul I have many “cloud of witnesses” that are praying and encouraging US to finish the course as we impact Vancouver for Jesus and join our brothers and sisters in our Fathers vineyard. Just wanted to take time today to acknowledge our church planting sponsor Pastor Kyle Davies and Generation Church for their support in helping “Seeds Of Greatness Ministries” get off to a awesome start church planting. Every Tuesday meeting with my church planting coach has been grueling & a work of beauty stripping down “what’s me and getting to the root of Jesus (Cross) being at the center of this church.” I want to also thank my team for supporting me and coming along on this journey as we “Explore What It Looks Like To Follow Jesus.”
